Are there any solar panels that can generate electricity to light the room?

I remembered my solar calculator can work under the under the electric light. So when deciding what to use as decoration for your use at the table, the solar panels are examined. The blue reflections distorted as very good to be the base of the table. But when I called my local dealers believe that any panels can produce electricity in ordinary light. So there is no such thing?

Solar panels absorb certain frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. Not all light is the same. The light is generally characterized by the black body temperature. Its main the temperature of the source, but defines the frequency of light. The sun is a black body source at 6000 K halogen bulb 4100K 5900K Fluorescent Green House: 3200K Incandescent: 2600K Since solar panels are designed for the sun, the sun is closest to the frequencies more power you produce. A solar panel will generate the form of any voltage source of black body, as each source is a continuous spectrum of frequencies, just different sizes. A LED light is however a specific frequency and can not produce a voltage when applied to a solar cell. Intensity is another consideration. If you put a solar cell directly under a halogen light without a doubt will produce more than the other side of the room. Specifically your question: yes, all the solar panels generate electricity consumption to ambient light. It is a small fraction of solar radiation intensity and frequency varies. Hope that helps!
